Guwahati, 29 March (HS): The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has taken disciplinary action against 15 party workers, expelling them from the organization for a period of six years with immediate effect over allegations of anti-party activities and violation of party discipline.

The decision was issued under the direction of APCC President Gaurav Gogoi, who emphasized the party’s commitment to maintaining internal discipline and organizational integrity. According to the official order, the expelled members were found to be involved in activities that went against party interests.

The individuals expelled include Bhaskar Jyoti Baruah from Titabor, Abul Miah from Gauripur, Aftadur Ali Khan from Chenga, Tapan Das from Udharbond, Sandip Das from Katigora, Jahurul Islam Barbhuiya from Borkhola, Aziz Ahmed Khan from Karimganj South, Dr. Anup Kumar Das from Ram Krishna Nagar (SC), Labaniya Boro from Boko-Chaygaon, Nitul Das from Dimoria (SC), Girindra Kumar Bhuyan from Rangapara, Pallabi Saikia from Tezpur, Mukut Das from Raha (SC), Biju Dowarah from Khowang, and Aynul Hoque from Dalgaon.

Party sources stated that the move sends a strong message against indiscipline and reinforces the Congress leadership’s zero-tolerance stance on actions that harm the party’s prospects, particularly in the run-up to crucial political engagements in the state.----------
