Noida, 28 March
(HS): Noida International Airport will not only be a contemporary airport, but
also a living embodiment of Indian culture and traditions. Union Civil Aviation
Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu said Saturday at the airport's Phase 1 opening that
its architecture and interior design will embrace Uttar Pradesh's tradition,
giving tourists with a unique cultural experience.
The Union
Minister stated during the inauguration that the airport's architecture will
clearly mirror the traditional palaces of Uttar Pradesh. Architectural
characteristics such as arches, courtyards, and traditional structures will
introduce visitors to the state's diverse cultural past. He stated that the
terminal is being designed as a multi-level building inspired by the Ganga
Ghats, providing tourists with a comparable experience to the ghats in Varanasi
and Haridwar. The staircase design, open spaces, and lighting have been
designed to create a spiritual and serene atmosphere.
He said
that traditional handicrafts from various states of the country have been used
in the airport's beautification. This initiative will not only showcase India's
diverse art traditions but also provide a global platform for local and
national artisans. The design of Noida International Airport exemplifies how
cultural identity can be incorporated into modern infrastructure. The
traditional theme combined with high-tech facilities makes it distinct and
unique from other airports.
