Guwahati, 26 March (HS): Three notorious drug traffickers from Manipur, identified as Mohammad Hayatullah, Mohammad Yakub and Mohammad Jamir, were arrested in Guwahati by police while attempting to conduct drug transactions. The police said on Thursday that the trio is believed to be masterminds of an organized drug syndicate operating across Northeast India.

Police said the gang used a fake registered vehicle to transport drugs across different parts of the region. During a targeted operation in Basist, the traffickers were caught in the act, and authorities also seized an i20 vehicle linked to the operation.

Investigations are ongoing, with police continuing to interrogate the accused to uncover the full network of their drug distribution activities in the Northeast.------------
