government's initiative: 'AI For All' course becomes mandatory for first time
in vocational training for classes 9 to 12
Students
from over 1200 schools will benefit, with emphasis on technical proficiency
along with skill training
Lucknow,
26 March (HS): Under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and under
the leadership of Kapil Dev Agarwal, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for
Vocational Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Artificial
Intelligence (AI) has been included under 'Project Praveen', taking an
important initiative towards connecting the youth of the state with future technologies.
On the initiative of Pulkit Khare, Mission Director of Uttar Pradesh Skill
Development Mission (UPSDM), the 'AI For All' course is now being implemented
compulsorily in all vocational training programs conducted from class 9 to 12.
This
initiative will be implemented from the upcoming financial year 2026-27, under
which a 4-hour special AI course has been made mandatory for trainers and
students. This is being considered an innovative and historic step towards the
inclusion of technology in the school education system of Uttar Pradesh.
'Project Praveen' is a 210-hour free skill development program for students of
classes 9 to 12 of secondary schools, in which vocational training is given in
fields like IT, beauty, healthcare and electronics. Now, by adding 'AI For All'
to this program, students will also be empowered with modern technical
knowledge, so that they can be ready for employment along with completing their
education.
Through
this initiative, more than 2 lakh students from over 1200 government and aided
schools of the state will directly benefit. Through the AI course, students
will develop important skills like problem solving, creative thinking, data
analysis and digital proficiency, which will enable them for future jobs.
Keeping in mind the interest of the students and the market demand, 4-hour
customized AI modules have also been prepared for IT customer care executive,
tailoring, healthcare, digital friend and other key job roles, so that students
can understand the practical use of AI in their respective fields.
To ensure
quality training, it is mandatory for all trainers to first complete the 'AI
For All' course. Additionally, a one-day online workshop will be organized by
Mission Headquarters on March 28, chaired by Dr. Pavitra Tandon (Assistant
Director, IT). AI experts will provide technical training to trainers at this
workshop. Mission Director Pulkit Khare stated that the launch of 'AI For All'
under 'Project Praveen' marks a major shift in school education. It will equip
students in grades 9 to 12 with a fundamental understanding of artificial
intelligence and its practical application, enabling them to transform future
technological challenges into opportunities. This initiative is an important
step towards preparing the youth of Uttar Pradesh to meet global standards. All
relevant schools and trainers have been instructed to effectively implement
this initiative so that maximum students can benefit from it and become
technologically empowered.
