New Delhi, 25 March (H.S.): Telecom regulator TRAI conducted independent drive tests in February to assess mobile network quality across Ahmedabad Gandhinagar Vadodara and the Ahmedabad highway in Gujarat. Private players Jio and Airtel delivered superior performance while BSNL trailed on multiple parameters.

TRAI reported Jio and Airtel achieved near-perfect call setup success rates of almost 100 percent in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. BSNL managed just 81.91 percent with the highest call drop rates. For data services Jio led 5G download speeds at 258 Mbps followed by Airtel at 121 Mbps and Vodafone-Idea at 55 Mbps. Both Jio and Airtel also excelled on 4G networks.

On the Vadodara-Ahmedabad highway stretch Jio and Airtel maintained strong showings. BSNL however saw call drop rates spike to 22.73 percent alongside weak data speeds.
