Lakhimpur (Assam), 25 March (HS): A powerful storm lashed several parts of Lakhimpur district and the several parts of the state, triggering widespread damage and panic, with Pathalipahar witnessing a particularly grim situation.

The sudden storm struck while a Bhaona Celebration was underway, leading to the collapse of a pandal and leaving several people seriously injured. The injured were immediately rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Reports also emerged from Bongalmora, where the storm caused significant damage to houses and property last night, leaving many families affected. Local authorities are assessing the extent of the damage.------------
