Mohamed Salah dropped a bombshell Tuesday announcing he'll leave Liverpool Football Club when the current season wraps up. In a video shared on social media he kicked off his farewell message confirming the decision that's rocked fans.

The 33-year-old said Unfortunately the day has come. This is the first part of my farewell. I'll be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season.

He reflected deeply on his bond with the club city and supporters calling it a vital slice of his life. Salah ranks third in Liverpools all-time scoring charts with 255 goals in 435 matches trailing only Ian Rush and Roger Hunt.

Since joining in 2017 hes bagged two Premier League titles Champions League FA Cup Super Cup Club World Cup and League Cup among major honours. He never dreamed this club and its people would weave so deeply into his life thanking teammates and fans for sticking through career highs and lows.

Liverpool will always have a place in my heart—its home for me and my family Salah added emotionally. Leaving isnt easy but Ill always be part of this club.

Notably Salah played a starring role in ending Liverpools 30-year league title drought in 2019-20. Last November though reports surfaced of tensions with coach Arne Slot fueling speculation about his future.
