Guwahati, 25 March (HS): The nomination paper of BJP candidate Kushal Duwari has finally been declared valid, putting an end to days of uncertainty surrounding his candidature.

The nomination had come under scrutiny after Raijor Dal president Akhil Gogoi lodged a formal complaint with the Election Commission, challenging its validity. Following the complaint, speculation had intensified over whether Duwari’s nomination would be accepted.

For a considerable period, the Election Commission’s website had only reflected Duwari’s application status, further fuelling confusion. However, recent updates on the official portal have confirmed that his nomination has been accepted as valid.

Meanwhile, no final decision has yet been announced regarding the nominations of both the BJP and Congress candidates from the Dhekiajuli constituency, keeping the suspense alive in that seat.-----------
