Barpeta, 24 March (HS): The nomination of Congress candidate Mahananda Sarkar from Barpeta is likely to face rejection following allegations of discrepancies in the signatures on the mandatory A and B forms.
An objection has been formally lodged with the Returning Officer by the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), raising concerns over inconsistencies in the submitted documents.
The scrutiny of nomination papers is currently underway at the District Commissioner’s office in Barpeta. The process is being conducted in the presence of representatives from both political parties, ensuring transparency in the examination of the documents.
