New Delhi, 21 March (H.S.):

Tata Group carriers Air India and Air India Express announced Saturday they will operate a combined total of 42 scheduled and non-scheduled flights to and from the West Asia region today, March 21, keeping key links to Jeddah and Muscat alive despite some routes remaining suspended.

In a statement posted on X Saturday, the airlines detailed 16 flights between India and Jeddah, including Air India return services from Delhi and Mumbai plus one Air India Express flight from Hyderabad.

Air India will also run eight scheduled flights to Muscat from Delhi, Kochi, Kozhikode, and Mumbai, navigating ongoing strains in the Gulf area.

The move follows DGCA advisories Friday urging carriers to skirt certain West Asian airspaces and prep emergency plans amid escalating tensions there.

While some paths stay paused, these operations aim to serve stranded passengers and maintain vital connectivity.
