Eid-ul-Fitr was observed with deep faith and reverence across Delhi on Saturday. Muslims offered special Eid prayers in the morning, praying earnestly for global peace, national progress, and prosperity.
At the historic Shahjahanabad Jama Masjid, Imam Syed Ahmad Bukhari led the Eid namaz, drawing a massive congregation. The mosque courtyard, steps, and surrounding streets overflowed with worshippers reciting prayers together. Following the namaz, Imam Bukhari led special supplications for peace and well-being.
At Old Delhi's other royal mosque, Fatehpuri, Imam Dr. Mufti Mukarram Ahmad conducted the prayers. He highlighted the prevailing global unrest and called for lasting peace, offering prayers for worldwide harmony, national prosperity, and advancement. A large number of devotees gathered here as well.
Meanwhile, at the Shahi Eidgah on Rani Jhansi Road, Eid-ul-Fitr namaz was held amid a sizable turnout. Special arrangements were made for worshippers at the Anglo Arabic Senior Secondary School mosque too.
Prayers echoed through mosques in Muslim-majority neighborhoods across Delhi, including Dargah Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya and Jamia Millia Islamia's mosque.
Beyond Old Delhi, celebrations extended to Yamuna-side areas like Laxmi Nagar, Shakarpur, Jhilmil, Khureji, Taj Enclave, Shastri Park, Seelampur, Welcome, Shahdara, Nandanpuri, Seemapuri, Maujpur, Mustafabad, Karawal Nagar, Trilokpuri, Kalyanpuri, Mayur Vihar, Vasundhara, Sarai Kale Khan, Jamia Nagar, Batla House, Abul Fazl Enclave, Badarpur, Tughlakabad, Sangam Vihar, Hamdard Nagar, Madangir, Khanpur, Hauz Rani, Mehrauli, Saket, Vasant Kunj, and Vasant Vihar, along with outer Delhi locales.
Outside mosques, vendors lined up selling balloons and toys, with children eagerly making purchases amid the joyful atmosphere.
