The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) conducted a rigorous mobile service quality assessment in Rajasthan's Bikaner district, with Airtel and Jio topping call setup success rates.
The Ministry of Communications revealed January tests across Bikaner city, Nokha and Shri Dungargarh towns, Deshnok-Norangdesar highway (NH-754A), and Pugal-Ranjeetpura national highway (NH-911). Advanced handsets and software evaluated real-world performance on call setup success, drop rates, voice quality, data speeds (download/upload).
In urban areas—Bikaner, Nokha, Shri Dungargarh—both Airtel and Jio achieved near-100% call setup success, outpacing BSNL and Vodafone Idea. Jio led 5G download speeds.On Deshnok-Norangdesar highway, Airtel and Jio maintained 100% call success; BSNL and VI lagged. Pugal-Ranjeetpura saw Jio at 100%, VI trailing.TRAI will publish results on its website and newspapers to spur service improvements.
