Kolkata, 02 March (H.S.) : Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday made a series of major announcements for government employees, youth and job aspirants while addressing a large public meeting during the Parivartan Yatra in West Bengal. He said that if the Bharatiya Janata Party forms the government in the state, government employees will receive Dearness Allowance within 45 days and the Seventh Pay Commission will be implemented. He described the move as a step towards ensuring long-pending financial justice for employees.
Addressing the rally at Bhagwatipur in the Raidighi Assembly constituency of South 24 Parganas district, Shah said providing employment opportunities to the youth and ensuring financial rights for government employees would be among the party’s top priorities. He announced that the process to fill all vacant government posts would begin on December 26. He also said that candidates who lost opportunities due to delays in recruitment would be given a special age relaxation of 5 years so that they can compete again for government jobs.
Shah said that a transparent and merit-based recruitment system would be introduced to restore the confidence of job aspirants. He alleged that lack of transparency in recruitment processes had deprived many deserving candidates of employment opportunities and assured that the situation would change if the BJP comes to power.
Speaking on the issue of government employees, Shah said the implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission would ensure financial stability and administrative efficiency. He added that the party is committed to safeguarding the interests of employees and ensuring payment of pending benefits, including Dearness Allowance.
On women’s empowerment, Shah announced a special allocation of 5700 crore rupees aimed at ensuring safety, dignity and economic self-reliance for women. He said targeted schemes would be introduced to strengthen the social and economic condition of women in the state.
Referring to the teacher recruitment controversy involving around 26000 posts, Shah said a transparent and lawful solution would be ensured and necessary financial provisions would be made to resolve the issue and provide justice to eligible candidates.
The Union Home Minister also took a strong stand against corruption, saying strict legal action would be taken against those involved in scams and misuse of public funds. He said individuals involved in corruption would not receive political protection and would be brought under the ambit of the law.
On law and order, Shah said strong action would be taken against criminal networks and mafia elements. He added that steps would be taken to strengthen the law and order situation in the state and ensure the safety of citizens, especially women.
Targeting Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over alleged appeasement politics, Shah said illegal infiltrators would be identified through due legal process and necessary action would be taken in the interest of national security.
During his speech, Shah also referred to Bengal’s cultural and spiritual heritage and paid tribute to Gangasagar and the region’s historical legacy. He said the Parivartan Yatra aims to establish transparent governance, restore law and order and ensure inclusive development in the state.
He expressed confidence that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a BJP government in West Bengal would bring administrative transparency, generate employment and accelerate economic development. He urged people to support political change, saying decisive transformation is necessary for a secure and prosperous future for the state.
