New Delhi, 19 March (H.S.): Congress leader and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi urged Delhi residents to shun provocation and uphold brotherhood following the Holi night murder of 26-year-old Tarun Khatik in Uttam Nagar, decrying the violence's grievous toll.

In an X post, Gandhi highlighted the tragedy's dual devastation—a young man's life extinguished and a family enduring persecution—imploring, People want no more bloodshed. Hate-mongers seek to entangle the nation in Hindu-Muslim strife, diverting scrutiny.

He exhorted unity as India's forte: Don't fall prey to deception. Our strength lies in unity, brotherhood, and love. Joṛo Joṛo, Bharat Joṛo.

The March 4 clash, sparked by colored water splashing during festivities between neighboring families, escalated fatally amid prior disputes, prompting arrests and protests.
