New Delhi, 19 March (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi held telephonic parleys on Thursday with Oman's Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Malaysia's PM Anwar Ibrahim, and France's President Emmanuel Macron, underscoring the imperative to halt hostilities swiftly and revert to dialogue and diplomacy in West Asia.

PM Modi, sharing on X, affirmed sustained close coordination with his friend Macron to foster Gulf peace and stability. With Ibrahim, he extended hearty Eid al-Fitr greetings, reiterating shared resolve for de-escalation; the Sultan received advance Eid felicitations, both concurring on prioritizing talks to mitigate tensions.

India reiterated condemnation of Oman's sovereignty breaches, lauding its aid in evacuating Indians and thousands others, while championing secure, free Hormuz navigation—prioritizing regional integrity and expatriate safety.
