New Delhi, 19 March (H.S.): The Central government has inducted 2016-batch Chhattisgarh cadre IAS officer Dr. Ravi Mittal as Deputy Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), with the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) granting approval via a Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) order.

The deputation, effective from date of assumption for four years or until further orders, elevates Mittal—who earned his MBBS from Delhi's prestigious Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) prior to civil services—currently serving as Chhattisgarh Public Relations Commissioner and Joint Secretary in the Chief Minister's Secretariat, overseeing state communications for the past 18 months.

A seasoned administrator, he previously helmed Jashpur district as Collector under CM Vishnu Dev Sai, led Zila Panchayat CEOs in Mahasamund, Raigad, and Raipur, and officiated as Bagicha SDM in 2018, fusing medical expertise with governance acumen.
