Hooghly, 18 March (H.S.): Trinamool Congress candidate Tanmoy Ghosh on Wednesday received a warm welcome from party workers after arriving in Serampore following the announcement of his candidature from the Assembly constituency.

Ghosh visited Maya Bhavan in Serampore where he met party councillors, office-bearers and workers. Local leaders, including town TMC president Santosh alias Pappu Singh and chairman Giridhari Saha, expressed confidence in his victory from the seat.

He later went to Rishra Municipality where he was again accorded a grand reception. A meeting was held at the community hall in the presence of chairman Vijay Sagar Mishra, vice-chairman Zahid Hasan Khan and councillors.

During the meeting, councillors resolved to work towards ensuring a decisive victory for the TMC candidate from their respective wards.
