Gorakhpur,
17 March (HS): A former councillor's aide was reportedly stabbed to death by
four unidentified individuals while out on a morning stroll on Tuesday,
according to police. According
to authorities, the event occurred about 5.30 a.m. on Tuesday, only 500 yards from
the deceased's dwelling -- Raj Kumar Chauhan (38) -- in the Bargadwa region of
Chiluatal police station boundaries. The attackers allegedly stopped Chauhan as
he departed for his morning stroll and stabbed him many times. Family members
rushed him to BRD Medical College, where he was pronounced dead. Dr Kaustubh,
Senior Superintendent of Police stated that the incident was reported early in
the morning. A lawsuit has been filed in response to a complaint filed by the
victim's relatives, accusing eight people from the same area. Seven people have
been apprehended and are now being questioned.
Eight
police teams have been formed to investigate the incident. CCTV video from
seven cameras in the community is being analyzed. Some important evidence has
also been gathered. According to the SSP, all perspectives, including old
enmities, are being extensively probed. Chauhan, according to police, was a
former councillor's representative who also ran a company. Investigators are
looking at a reported quarrel dating back to 2023 as a possible reason for the
killing. He worked as a councilor's representative from 2018 until 2023. Akhilesh
Yadav, the head of the Samajwadi Party, criticized the BJP administration over
the tragic event.
