March (HS): On the occasion of the death of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister
and Union Minister Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath paid respect. Speaking on the event, CM Yogi praised his
contributions to the state's growth and stated that he had always working to
raise social public awareness.
Hemwati
Nandan Bahuguna, a liberation warrior, died on this day. On this occasion, I
pay respect to him on behalf of the Uttar Pradesh government and the
people.Yogi Adityanath stated that he made continual attempts to raise societal
consciousness. CM Yogi emphasized Bahuguna's efforts to raise social and
national consciousness in independent India.
“Hemwati
Nandan Bahuguna worked tirelessly to improve social awareness and national
consciousness, as well as the country's independence. He achieved many great
things in independent India as a public representative, Chief Minister in a
state government, and Union Minister, he stated. His efforts, as a public
representative, Chief Minister, and Union Minister, were decisions made for the
wellbeing of all sections of society, the success of the country, and the
common people. I pay tribute to him on behalf of the state government and the
people of the state, he continued.

on X, reads as follows: “On the occasion of the death anniversary of the late
Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna, a great freedom fighter, popular politician, and
former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, I paid tribute to him by offering
floral tributes at his statue in Lucknow today. Along with the country's
independence, the revered Bahuguna ji performed remarkable work to vigorously
advance social awareness and national consciousness. Salute to his sacred
memories.”
Yogi
Adityanath routinely respects the memory of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister
and freedom fighter Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna (1919-1989), describing him as a
determined leader with a clear vision for progress and a towering personality.
Yogi Adityanath offers floral tributes to Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna at Yojana
Bhawan in Lucknow on his birth and death anniversaries (April 25 and March 17,
respectively). In August 2021, CM Yogi presented a statue of Hemwati Nandan
Bahuguna and opened an exhibition commemorating his life and
accomplishments.
Yogi
praised Bahuguna as a versatile, committed liberation warrior who fought for
democratic principles, integrity, and transparency. Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna's children, notably
ex-BJP MP Rita Bahuguna Joshi, Congress leader Shekhar Bahuguna, his wife
Vinita Bahuguna and former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna,
frequently attend tributes and thank the Yogi administration for commemorating
their father.
Deputy
Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak attended the event as well. Hemwati Nandan
Bahuguna, a Congress politician, was elected Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh in
1973.
