Bhubaneswar, 16 March (H.S.)The deadline for submitting applications for the Common PG Entrance Test (CPET) has been extended to March 18, 2026, the Higher Education Department announced on Monday.
Students aspiring to appear for the examination can submit their Common Application Form (CAF) through the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) portal until 11:45 PM on March 18.
Earlier, March 15, 2026, was the last date for submitting applications. However, considering the larger interest and future prospects of students, the Higher Education Department decided to extend the deadline to allow more candidates to apply.
Students seeking admission into postgraduate courses for the 2026–27 academic session are required to appear for the CPET, which serves as the gateway for PG admissions in universities and colleges across Odisha.
According to the official schedule, the CPET examinations will be conducted from April 27 to May 10, 2026, covering various postgraduate subjects. Admissions to postgraduate programmes will be based on the marks secured by candidates in the entrance test.
The Higher Education Department has also set a target to commence postgraduate classes by July 10, 2026, in all universities and colleges. The move aims to ensure timely completion of academic sessions, examinations, and the declaration of results, ultimately benefiting students across the state.
