March (HS): Indian
Army participated in the National Symposium on Additive Manufacturing organised
by the National Centre for Additive Manufacturing (NCAM) under the aegis of the
Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology in New Delhi.
The
symposium highlighted the growing role of Additive Manufacturing in strengthening
defence capabilities through enhanced combat force regeneration, rapid
prototyping and battlefield resilience, supporting emerging operational
technologies.
During
a panel discussion, experts from the military, academia and industry deliberated
on leveraging advanced manufacturing for defence applications. The panel
featured Lieutenant General Rajiv Kumar Sahni, DG EME, Major General Shivendra
Kumar Bhattacharya, Major General PS Bindra, Dr Shibu John (CEO & Founder,
3D Graphy) and Dr Shamsher Singh, (IIT Delhi), focusing on innovation and
self-reliance in defence capabilities in support of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
