
Mumbai, 13 Mar
(HS): Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has announced a Mega
Recruitment Drive, under which about one lakh people will be recruited,
including about 40,000 personnel in the police department.
The process will
start in April this year and vacancies in various categories will be filled in
within a period of 150 days.
The State
Government has amended service entry rules and ensured transparency in the
pending recruitment under compassionate ground. A Committee under the Additional
Chief Secretary has been constituted to increase the pace of recruitment
through the Public Service Commission. About 80 per cent of recruitment under
the Compassionate Ground have been completed, the remaining 20 per cent will be
completed soon.
The posts to be
filled in and the include Police – 20,000, Talathi – 1,700, Water Resources
Department – 14,000, Assistant Professors – 5,000, Revenue Department – 2,000,
School Teachers – 1,000, Clerk-cum-Typist – 2100 etc.
