Books provide
holistic knowledge and power to connect with Indian culture: Higher Education
Minister Yogendra Upadhyay
Lucknow, 13
March (HS): State Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyaya attended the
Lucknow Book Fair held at Ravindralaya, Charbagh, Lucknow, on Friday as the
chief guest. On this occasion, he visited the stalls of various publishers and
viewed books on a variety of subjects. He said that books represent a
storehouse of knowledge and provide values, ideas, and direction to society. The
Higher Education Minister said that literature is the foundation of respect for
any language and society. When the thoughts written by scholars and thinkers
are compiled in books, they become an invaluable source of knowledge for future
generations. He added that organizing book fairs is extremely important in this
regard because the availability of books on various subjects in one place
provides readers with the opportunity to gain comprehensive knowledge.
He said
that universities and colleges provide education in specific subjects, but the
expansion of comprehensive knowledge is possible only through the study of
books. Therefore, books have been called man's best friend, guide, and teacher.
He appealed to students to come to the book fair and study books on various
subjects and expand their knowledge.
The Higher
Education Minister said that while technology and mobile phone use have
increased today, it's also essential to keep the tradition of reading books
alive. He added that studying literature and books is crucial to understanding
Indian culture, traditions, and values. Books not only impart knowledge but
also connect society with values and national consciousness.
He said
that Indian culture is based on the principle of Vasudhaiva
Kutumbakam, and literature serves to keep this idea alive in society.
Events like book fairs promote a culture of reading in society and inspire the
new generation to think positively. At the end of the program, he congratulated
the organizers for the successful organization of the Lucknow Book Fair and
said that such events play an important role in promoting knowledge, culture,
and positive thinking in society. Present on the occasion were Murlidhar Ahuja,
Patron; Manoj Singh Chandel, Coordinator; T.P. Havelia, Patron; Arkash Chandel,
