
Doda, 13 March (H.S.): A head constable of Jammu and Kashmir Police and his wife were killed, while their children suffered injuries, when a car they were travelling in met with an accident on Friday in the hilly Kishtwar district.
Police here said that a head constable identified as Zulfikar Ali and his wife were killed, and their children suffered injuries when their car met with an accident and rolled down into the river near Basti village in the Bhaderwah area of Doda district.
They said that injured children have been shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognisance of the incident.
Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, in a post on X, said, “Spoke to DC Doda, Krishan Lal, after learning about the tragic road accident near Basti village of Bhaderwah, in which, unfortunately, a Head Constable of Jammu & Kashmir Police, Zulfikar Ali, and his wife lost their lives.”
Their two children, also travelling with them, got injured but are out of danger.
All possible assistance is being provided, he said in a post, adding, “My sincere condolences to the families of the deceased.”
