Kolkata, 13 March (H.S.): Senior BJP leader Amit Malviya on Friday accused the Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal of insulting President Droupadi Murmu and demanded an unconditional apology from Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

In a post on social media platform X, Malviya alleged that the incident reflected the ruling party’s disregard for the tribal community.

He claimed that the state government had deliberately disrespected and insulted the President.

The BJP leader said that if Banerjee and the Trinamool Congress government had any sense of accountability, they should issue an unconditional apology to President Murmu, the tribal community and the nation.

He added that undermining the dignity of constitutional offices was a matter of serious concern in a democratic system.
