Bhubaneswar, 12 March (H.S.): BJP state spokesman Anil Biswal has criticized the emerging closeness between the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and the Congress, describing it as an “alliance of desperation” rather than an alliance of ideas. Sharing his views on social media, Biswal wrote, “Expect the Unexpected.”
In his post, he pointed out the irony of politics, highlighting that a party originally formed to oppose the Congress is now with it. Biswal noted that BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik, who began his political journey on an anti-Congress wave, now sits alongside Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Bhakta Charan Das, a long-time critic of Patnaik.
Describing the shift as opportunistic, Biswal said the political transformation—from “untouchability to comfortable proximity”—is purely hypocritical and driven by convenience rather than conviction.
