
Bhubaneswar, 11 March (H.S.): The Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday conducted simultaneous searches at seven locations linked to Prasanna Samantaray, an OAS officer currently serving as the Tehsildar of Kantapada in Cuttack district, over allegations of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. The searches were carried out on March 11 following warrants issued by the Special Vigilance Court in Cuttack.
According to Vigilance sources, the operation is being led by two Additional Superintendents of Police (Addl. SPs) and includes a team of eight Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), 11 Inspectors, five Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), and other supporting staff. The coordinated raids are being conducted at multiple premises associated with Samantaray across Cuttack, Khordha (Bhubaneswar), Puri, and Kendrapara districts.
As part of the operation, Vigilance officials searched a triple-storey residential building located at Kesara under Saheednagar police station limits in Bhubaneswar and another triple-storey building under construction at the same location. The teams also conducted searches at his paternal house in Duchhia village under Gadisagada police station in Puri district, a relative’s residence at Laxmisagar in Bhubaneswar, and another relative’s house at Badapaldia under Marshaghai police station in Kendrapara district.
In In addition, the Vigilance officials searched Samantaray’s office chamber at Kantapada in Cuttack district as well as his government residential quarter at Kantapada. The raids are part of an ongoing investigation to verify allegations of disproportionate assets, and further details are expected after the completion of the search operations.
