Mumbai,
11 Mar (HS): Maharashtra’s Revenue Department has appointed 200 private licence
holder land surveyors to expedite the survey work. They will start functioning
from March 30, 2026.
Revenue
Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule said that the survey was being delayed due to
inadequate staff with the government department. Now the survey will be
completed within 15 to 30 days. The private surveyors will be imparted two-week’s
training before they start actual work.
The
issue was raised by former minister Jayant Patil.
In
the first phase a pilot project will be implemented in 17/18 tehsils, where the
cases are pending for the major period. The appointment of surveyors will
resolve the problems relating to sale and purchase transaction and also
disputes relating to bifurcation of lands.
