
Jammu, 10 March (H.S.): Former Dy Chief Minister and senior Congress leader, Tara Chand has stressed for greater role of women in decision making in the party.
He was speaking in the monthly meeting of the Block Congress Committee (BCC) Khour, amid enthusiastic participation from party delegates, office bearers and grassroots workers from different areas of the region. The meeting turned into a vibrant gathering as a large number of women delegates attended the event and actively took part in discussions, marking the spirit of International Women’s Day and highlighting the growing role of women within the party organization.
Former Dy Chief Minister and working president of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Tara Chand, focused on strengthening the party at the grassroots level, expanding outreach among the masses, and ensuring greater participation of women and youth in political processes.
The gathering provided an important platform for party leaders to review the functioning of the organization at the block level and to chalk out strategies for improving coordination among workers in the Chhamb and Akhnoor constituencies.
Speakers emphasized the need for regular interaction with the public to understand local issues and ensure that the concerns of the people are effectively raised at appropriate forums. Several leaders noted that the increasing involvement of women in political activities reflects a positive social transformation and strengthens democratic institutions. They underlined that women have always played a crucial role in social development and community welfare and and their participation in political decision-making is essential for ensuring balanced and inclusive governance.
