commercial flights will now move forward.
During the
meeting, a delegation of senior officials, including Airport Chief Executive
Officer Christoph Schnellmann, briefed the Chief Minister on the project's progress
and upcoming steps. According to officials, following the receipt of the
aerodrome license, the final process for regulatory approvals is underway. The
airport's aerodrome security program is currently pending review by the Bureau

The Noida
International Airport, being developed in Jewar, Gautam Buddha Nagar, is a
significant greenfield airport connecting the National Capital Region and
Western Uttar Pradesh to major cities across the country and the world. The
airport is being developed with world-class facilities, showcasing a blend of
Swiss efficiency and Indian hospitality. The airport's Chief Executive Officer
is Christoph Schnellmann. The airport is being developed in four phases. The
first phase includes a runway and a passenger terminal building, with a
capacity of approximately 12 million passengers per year. The second phase will
expand capacity to 30 million passengers. With expansion in the third and
fourth phases, the total capacity is targeted to reach 70 million passengers.
In the
first phase, the terminal building covers an area of approximately 1.38 lakh
square meters, with 48 check-in counters, nine security check lanes, and nine
immigration counters. Domestic and international lounges are also being
developed for passenger convenience. Furthermore, 10 aerobridges and 28
aircraft parking stands have been installed. The runway has been developed to
handle approximately 30 flights per hour. A modern cargo and logistics hub is
also being developed on the airport campus. In the initial phase, its capacity
will be approximately 2.5 lakh tons of cargo per year, which will be expanded
to 1.5 million tons in the future.
From a
technological perspective, this airport will also be equipped with
state-of-the-art facilities. Systems such as the DigiYatra-based biometric
system, self-baggage drop, and a digital passenger processing system are being
implemented to provide passengers with a fast and seamless travel experience.
Keeping sustainable development in mind, the airport is being developed with
the goal of achieving net-zero emissions. Facilities such as solar energy,
rainwater harvesting, and electric vehicle charging are also being developed on
the campus. Experts believe that the opening of Noida International Airport
will reduce air traffic pressure in Delhi-NCR and create new investment, tourism,
and employment opportunities in Western Uttar Pradesh.
