March (HS): Three persons were killed and four others were badly injured after
two motorbikes they were traveling in collided with a stopped truck while
attempting to evade a fast car approaching them, police said Tuesday. The
collision occurred on the Raebareli-Sultanpur national highway near Nigohan
hamlet on Monday night. According to authorities, seven persons, all relatives,
were returning to Raebareli after attending an evening event at a school in
Jais.
While attempting to avoid a fast car approaching from the other way, both
vehicles collided with a truck (UP36 T1485) parked on the roadside. All of the
riders had serious injuries and were brought to a community health center in
Fursatganj, where doctors proclaimed Disha (6), her father Atul (38) and
Hiralal (45) dead.
Rani (30),
Shivani (18), and Pallavi (16) were critically injured and sent to Raebareli
District Hospital. The fourth, Mahi (12), is being treated at the Fursatganj
Community Health Centre.
According
to police, Atul, Disha, and Mahi were on one motorbike, and Hiralal, Rani,
Shivani, and Pallavi were on the other. Tiloi Circle Officer Dinesh Kumar
Mishra stated that the deceased's remains had been sent for post-mortem
examination. He stated that police had confiscated the vehicle.
