Barpeta (Assam), 01 March (HS): A devastating fire broke out at the Okya Primary Health Sub-Centre in Bajali district on Saturday night, causing extensive damage to the facility.

According to reports, several residential quarters of the health centre were completely gutted in the blaze. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. However, local residents suspect that the fire might have originated from a heap of dry hay stored nearby.

Fire and emergency services personnel later rushed to the spot and managed to bring the fire under control after sustained efforts. No casualties have been reported so far.----------
