Guwahati, 01 March (HS): A car dealer, Mahidul Ali, was allegedly abducted from the Satgaon area of Guwahati by a five-member group of drug-addicted youths who demanded ₹5 lakh from him.

According to reports on Sunday, the accused forcibly took Mahidul Ali and demanded a ransom of ₹5 lakh. When he refused to pay the amount, the youths allegedly assaulted him severely. They later snatched ₹45,000 in cash and a gold chain from his possession before fleeing the scene.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are making efforts to identify and apprehend the accused. Further details are awaited.-----------
