Kolkata, 28 February (H.S.): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee paid emotional tributes to two great figures of the nation and culture on the social media platform X on Saturday. On one hand, she remembered India's first President, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, on his death anniversary, and on the other, she paid humble tribute to the great Bengali theatre playwright, Girish Chandra Ghosh, on his birth anniversary.

In her message, the Chief Minister remembered Dr. Rajendra Prasad, writing that he was a President of independent India whose life epitomized simplicity, truth, and service to the nation. The country will always remember his contributions, from the drafting of the Constitution to the establishment of democratic values.

In another post, Mamata Banerjee paid tribute to Bengali theatre legend Girish Chandra Ghosh on his birth anniversary, saying he was a legend of Bengali theatre, whose contributions continue to inspire art and culture lovers. She noted that this great artist, blessed with the proximity of Sri Ramakrishnadev, took Bengali theatre to new heights.

According to the Chief Minister, Girish Chandra Ghosh was not only a master playwright and actor, but also successfully conveyed spiritual consciousness and human values to society through his works. This is why he remains everlastingly remembered in the hearts of people.
