25 Feb (HS): On the four-day visit to Singapore and Japan, with the goal of
making Uttar Pradesh a $1 trillion economy by 2029-30, Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath, along with Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi,
met with Singapore's top leadership, including the President, Prime Minister,
Deputy Prime Minister, and Home Minister. Meetings were held with several
investors, and several MoUs were signed during the visit. On the four-day visit
to Singapore and Japan led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Industrial
Development Minister of Uttar Pradesh Government Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi
participated in several programmes. Minister Nandi met Sanjay Gupta, President
of Asia Pacific Google in Singapore. During this, opportunities for deepening
cooperation in digital transformation, AI-led innovation and skill initiatives
to strengthen the technology ecosystem of Uttar Pradesh were discussed. The
possibilities of setting up a dedicated Google AI and Skill Centre in Uttar
Pradesh to accelerate digital transformation and create a future-ready
workforce were discussed.
During
the meeting, he met with Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong and
Industry Minister K.K. Discussions focused on strengthening institutional
cooperation, enhancing investor confidence, and deepening Uttar
Pradesh-Singapore relations across trade, infrastructure, security, and
governance structures.
Visited
the SATS Changi Airport Logistics Hub in Singapore. Visited advanced air cargo
handling systems, cold chain logistics, and integrated supply chain operations.
In light of the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar, this visit was
highly relevant in gaining valuable insights to further strengthen Uttar
Pradesh's aviation infrastructure and multimodal logistics ecosystem.
The
meeting was held with SATS Chief Executive Officer Kerry Moka. During the
meeting, SATS Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the development
of a world-class cargo complex at Noida International Airport Jewar, as well as
the establishment of a fast SATS Air catering kitchen that will serve Jewar as
well as other airports in North India. This partnership will boost trade,
strengthen the supply chain, and generate significant employment opportunities,
further strengthening Uttar Pradesh's position as a leading aviation and
logistics hub.
A
meeting was held with Singapore's Minister for Water, Energy and Science and
Technology, Dr. Tan See Leng, and Chief Executive Officer, Kong Wai Mun. A
Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Invest UP and Singapore
Cooperation Enterprises to establish a strategic partnership focused on
institutional capacity building, policy framework development, and structured
knowledge exchange to support sustainable economic growth, digital
transformation, and infrastructure development in Uttar Pradesh.
Investment
proposals worth Rs. 1 lakh crore received: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who
is on a visit to Singapore, said that Team UP has received investment proposals
worth approximately Rs. 1 lakh crore in Singapore, out of which MoUs worth ₹60
thousand crore have been signed by 'Invest UP'. He expressed confidence that
this investment will prove to be a milestone in making the state a $1 trillion
economy. The Chief Minister said that the world has become completely
transparent today. Investors are aware of every activity taking place in Uttar
Pradesh. This is the reason why UP has received such a huge investment in a
short time.
Over
the past eight and a half to nine years, Uttar Pradesh has experienced rapid
development in the areas of infrastructure, logistics, the service sector, and
public welfare. Today, the image of India and Uttar Pradesh is being viewed in
a very positive light globally. Some
companies have already invested in the Ganga Expressway, which is being
developed as the country's largest expressway. He said that there has been a
360-degree positive change in investor perception of Uttar Pradesh.
Initiatives
towards MRO and cargo hub in Jewar: The Chief Minister informed that the
delegation also visited the state-of-the-art sites where entry for the general
public is difficult. In particular, Singapore's capabilities were studied for
developing cargo facilities and MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhauling) at
the soon-to-be-opened Noida International Airport in Jewar. CM Yogi said that
currently many aircraft from India and the world come to Singapore for their
MRO work. This facility can be developed in India, especially in Jewar.
Investors have made serious preparations on this subject and are ready to
pursue the possibilities with Uttar Pradesh.
