Imphal, 25 February (HS): At least six rebels belonging to People's Liberation Army (PLA), People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) and People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (Progressive) [PREPAK (Pro)] were arrested during separate operations conducted by Manipur Police and security forces across the state.

According to official information released by Manipur Police on Wednesday, security forces apprehended three PLA rebels and one PREPAK (Pro) member from the general area between Border Pillar (BP) 72-73 at Yangoubung under Moreh Police Station in Tengnoupal district. The arrested individuals have been identified as Chalamba Takkhelambam (23) of Takel Makha Leikai in Imphal East district, Sougrakpam Ojit (33) of Aingangpokpi in Imphal East, Sorokaibam Manimatam (18) of Chairen Makha Leikai in Kakching district, and Yambem Lukhoi (21) of Nongmeibung in Imphal East district.

In a separate operation, security personnel arrested a PREPAK rebel, Sorokhaibam Inawaton Singh alias Nozan (39), from his residence at Lamsang Thong Maning under Lamsang Police Station in Imphal West district. A mobile phone along with a SIM card was seized from his possession.

In another operation, a PREPAK rebel, Sagolshem John Singh (43), a resident of Thoubal Haokha Mamang Leikai in Thoubal district, was arrested from his residential area. Security forces recovered one mobile phone, two SIM cards and a two-wheeler from his possession.
