
Mumbai, 25 Feb
(HS): The pending dues towards arrears of revised salaries of employees of
Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) have been transferred into
their bank accounts, Transport Minister and Chairman of MSRTC Pratap Sarnaik
said.
The State
Government took urgent steps to financial support to MSRTC, which was facing
financial problems and could not pay the arrears of the revised wages of its
employees. In October 2025 a financial support of Rs 65 crore was announced
after discussion with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief
Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar. Due to technical reasons from December
2025 the money could be transferred. The issue of granting Rs 210 crore to
MSRTC was followed and in the first phase Rs 100 crore was transferred. The
arrears have been paid to 86,000 employees have been paid on February24,
Sarnaik said.
Meanwhile, the
MSRTC employees had threatened strike for the delay in payment of dues to them.
