Darrang (Assam), 25 February (HS): Congress workers staged a protest outside the residence of Gaurav Gogoi on Tuesday night, opposing the reported move to leave the Dalgaon Assembly constituency for another party.
The agitating party workers expressed strong resentment over the decision to relinquish the Dalgaon seat, stating that it has long been considered a stronghold of the Congress. They demanded that the party field a Congress candidate from the constituency in the upcoming elections.
The protesters asserted that surrendering the seat would demoralize grassroots workers and weaken the party’s base in the region. They urged the party leadership to reconsider its decision and uphold the sentiments of local supporters.------------
