New Delhi, 20 February (H.S.): The Indian Youth Congress has openly assumed responsibility for the protest demonstrations staged at the India AI Impact Summit. On Friday, Youth Congress activists gathered near the exhibition hall at Bharat Mandapam, brandishing T-shirts emblazoned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's photograph while raising slogans against the India-US trade agreement.

In a formal press release, the organization took ownership of the action and disseminated a statement from its national president, Uday Bhanu Chib. Chib emphatically clarified that the protest was not directed against the AI Summit itself, but rather against those agreements which they perceive as compromising India's national interests. He asserted that the nation's youth will no longer remain silent.

In his view, the ongoing trade deals with the United States stand to harm farmers and ordinary citizens, conferring benefits solely upon America. Peaceful protest is our democratic right, Chib declared, vowing that the Youth Congress will continue to amplify the voices of young people.Chib further emphasized that silence is untenable when the interests of farmers and youth are being bartered away. He accused the government of stifling dissenting voices through IT rules on social media while prohibiting street demonstrations, leaving such public actions as the only viable avenue for registering opposition.
