
New Delhi, 20 February (H.S.): On Friday, the Congress party appointed Vinod Jakhar as the new National President of the National Students' Union of India (NSUI), with the appointment taking immediate effect.
Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal formally communicated that Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge approved Jakhar's elevation to lead the party's student wing nationwide.The party expressed deep appreciation for outgoing National President Varun Chaudhary's exemplary contributions and organizational efforts during his tenure.
Hailing from Rajasthan, Vinod Jakhar previously served in prominent state-level capacities within NSUI, including as its Rajasthan unit president. He also held the position of Rajasthan University Students' Union President, contested independently before rejoining the organization.Analysts view this appointment as a strategic leadership transition, marking the first time a Rajasthan figure assumes NSUI's national helm.
