
New Delhi, 20 February (H.S.): On Friday, during the India AI Impact Summit at Bharat Mandapam, Union Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan engaged in comprehensive discussions with his Brazilian counterpart and delegation on bolstering agricultural trade and technological exchanges.
Streamlining Market Access and Organic Farming
Minister Chouhan posted on X that the meeting at Krishi Bhawan addressed simplifying market access for agricultural products, alongside key issues in natural and organic farming.India is accelerating efforts to export pomegranate, garlic, grapes, and raisins to Brazilian markets.
Research Collaboration Consensus
Consensus emerged between the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and Brazil's esteemed Embrapa (Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation) to jointly promote natural and organic farming practices, with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) anticipated shortly.
Deliberations also encompassed establishing a 'Center of Excellence' to fortify India's ongoing pulses and oilseeds missions.
Integrated Systems Partnership
Brazil expressed keen interest in partnering with India on integrated farming systems.
Strengthening Bilateral Ties
Chouhan noted that the visit, led by Brazil's President and featuring senior ministers and delegates, will further solidify India-Brazil relations while securing collaborative support.
