New Delhi, 19 February (H.S.): The Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) executed Madhya Pradesh's largest-ever anti-drug operation, dismantling a clandestine methamphetamine factory in Thavalay village, Mhow tehsil, Indore district, and seizing 51.992 kilograms of high-quality MD/methamphetamine, over 260 kilograms of precursor chemicals, and sophisticated manufacturing equipment.
The raid commenced on the night of Thursday, February 13, 2026, when CBN's Neemuch branch, acting on specific intelligence, intercepted a bus in Mandsaur and recovered 8.172 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine from two passengers at BPL Chouraha, leading to their arrest under the NDPS Act, 1985.
Interrogations revealed the drugs originated from a secret lab; by Friday, February 14, teams traced and raided the Mhow facility despite hazardous chemical fumes requiring PPE gear.
On Saturday, February 15, Government Opium and Alkaloid Works experts dismantled the plant, seizing an additional 43.820 kilograms of MD from the premises owned by a detained suspect.
All contraband fell under NDPS Act provisions, with three arrests marking the operation's success. CBN continues probing the extensive manufacturing and distribution syndicate spanning multiple districts.
