New Delhi, 18 February (H.S.): External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar congratulated Dr. Khalilur Rahman on Wednesday for assuming the role of Bangladesh's Foreign Minister.In a post on X, Jaishankar expressed eagerness to collaborate closely to strengthen bilateral cooperation aimed at mutual progress and prosperity. He reaffirmed India's commitment to advancing the traditionally close ties between India and Bangladesh.

Notably, following the recent parliamentary elections in Bangladesh, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leader Tarique Rahman was sworn in as Prime Minister on Tuesday. On the same occasion, oaths were administered to members of his Council of Ministers.
