New Delhi, 18 February (H.S.): Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated the 'WAVES Creators Corner' on the second day of the India AI Impact Summit on Wednesday. This dedicated innovation platform showcases cutting-edge applications of artificial intelligence in animation, VFX, gaming, comics, and extended reality technologies.

During the event, Vaishnaw toured the pavilion and engaged with entrepreneurs from the WAVEX startup collective, as well as executives from major firms including Adobe, Netflix, Sony, and Amazon. He described the corner as an extension of ministry initiatives like WAVEX, WAVES Marketplace, and the Create in India challenges.

Startup Showcase and Innovations

Fifty-one startups from the media and entertainment sector presented their AI-driven technologies and immersive experiences, including winners from the Bhasha Setu and Kala Setu challenges. Vaishnaw interacted with these innovators, commending their efforts.He emphasized AI's profound societal impact, noting how the technology empowers rural Indian youth to build world-class startups.

The pavilion featured live demonstrations such as real-time game development, prompt-to-cinema live studios, AI-powered newsrooms, instant voice cloning, multilingual chat apps, 270-degree AI film displays, age-altering face and voice tech, and markerless motion capture.

Vaishnaw praised the Indian Institute of Creative Technology (IICT) for integrating AI into creative education, preparing students for evolving industry demands. He added that WAVES Creators Corner will host expert discussions, filmmaker masterclasses, and technical sessions throughout the summit.
