New Delhi, 18 February (H.S.): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) accused the Congress-led Karnataka government of usurping government property on Wednesday, alleging widespread corruption across the state and vowing to ensure that those involved face imprisonment.
During a press conference at BJP headquarters, party spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia claimed that the Karnataka Congress government, under Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, is converting 24 plots originally allocated for civic amenities into a Congress party headquarters.
These 24 plots have been transferred to the Congress Bhavan Trust at a nominal value of approximately 2 crore rupees, despite their market worth of around 50 crore rupees, exposing a clear corruption of 48 crore rupees.
Bhatia drew parallels to the National Herald case, where Congress allegedly converted government assets into personal property. He further accused Robert Vadra of grabbing farmers' land for private business and criticized the current misuse of power to hand over public land meant for Karnataka citizens' civic amenities to build the 'Congress Bhavan'.
