India Sets Guinness Record: 250,000 Pledge Responsible AI in 24 Hour


New Delhi, 18 February (H.S.): The India AI Mission and Intel India have achieved a Guinness World Record for the most pledges collected in 24 hours under the AI Responsibility Campaign launched at the India AI Impact Summit in New Delhi.Over 250,000 individuals took the pledge between February 16 and 17 to promote the ethical and responsible use of artificial intelligence.

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced this milestone during a press conference at Bharat Mandapam on Wednesday. He described it as a major achievement in India's progress toward responsible AI.

Vaishnaw praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for involving youth in the responsible and ethical use of AI. He stated, It is his vision that inspired us to connect with colleges, engage teachers, and motivate students to pledge to make AI a tool for societal good.

At the press conference held at Bharat Mandapam during the India AI Impact Summit, official adjudicator and Guinness World Records representative Praveen Patel formally certified the record. Patel explained that participants were encouraged to take the pledge under a structured protocol. Although the target was set at 5,000, a remarkable 250,946 individuals fulfilled the pledge within 24 hours, securing the record.
