Kathmandu, 03 November (H.S.): Sudhakar Dalela, India’s newly appointed Ambassador to Nepal, arrived in Kathmandu on Monday to assume his new assignment. Dalela landed at Tribhuvan International Airport at around 2 pm aboard an Air India flight, where he was received by Dr Rakesh Pandey, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Indian Embassy, along with officials from Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Ministry of External Affairs had appointed Dalela as India’s next Ambassador to Nepal a few days ago. Before his new assignment, he was serving as Secretary (Economic Relations) in the Ministry of External Affairs.
Dalela has previously served as India’s Ambassador to Bhutan. He has also held the position of Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, where he was in charge of the North Desk handling matters relating to Nepal and Bhutan.
His appointment comes at a time when India and Nepal are continuing efforts to strengthen high-level engagement and deepen their bilateral ties. Following his arrival in Kathmandu, Dalela is expected to formally assume charge shortly.
