The meeting, called by Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party Leader Bhishma Raj Angdembe, is scheduled to take place at 1 pm on Monday at the Parliamentary Party Office in Singha Durbar. The Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN-UML), the Nepali Communist Party (NCP), the Shram Sanskriti Party (SSP) and the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) have been invited to participate.
According to Angdembe, the discussions will focus on government accountability, the role of the ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), the arrest of journalists and the deployment of police personnel inside media organisations. The meeting will also deliberate on making investigation reports into various incidents public and ensuring that investigations are conducted impartially.
Meanwhile, a separate meeting of the Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party is also scheduled for Monday at 11:30 am at the party’s office in Singha Durbar. The meeting is expected to discuss the prevailing political situation and other contemporary issues.
On Sunday, Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa publicly outlined the party’s position on the government’s functioning and raised several questions about its conduct.
