Russia Launches Terrorism Probe Into Ukrainian Attack on Industrial Plant

MOSCOW, November 1 (HS/RIA Novosti) - Russia's Investigative Committee has launched a criminal investigation into a suspected act of terrorism following a Ukrainian attack on an industrial plant in the Nizhny Novgorod region, Committee spokeswoman Svetlana Petrenko told RIA Novosti on Sunday.

A criminal case has been opened on terrorism charges in connection with an attack by the Ukrainian armed forces on an industrial facility and civilian infrastructure facilities in the Nizhny Novgorod region, Petrenko said.

On November 1, the industrial plant in the Kstovsky district of the Nizhny Novgorod region was severely damaged in a massive drone attack. Damage was also recorded to civilian infrastructure facilities. According to preliminary data, no people were injured.

The investigators are working to establish the details of the attack, including types of the drones and identities of those involved in the attack.

A targeted attack on an industrial facility and civilian infrastructure has become another manifestation of the terrorist nature of the Kiev regime, Petrenko said.

Ukrainian military attacks on civilian assets in Russia demonstrate an extreme level of cynicism, the spokeswoman concluded.
