MOSCOW, October 8 (HS/RIA Novosti) - London has reached a sanctions impasse with its new restriction measures against Russia, the Russian Embassy in London said on Thursday.
Earlier in the day, the UK Foreign Office announced sanctions against 26 Russian individuals and organizations, including Zarubezhneft and Capital Kredit Bank. In total, 23 companies from Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Canada and Thailand, as well as citizens of Kyrgyzstan, the Netherlands and Russia, were subject to new sanctions. In addition, restrictions have been imposed against 12 vessels allegedly carrying oil from Russia.
Another batch of illegal anti-Russian restrictions against banks, individuals and merchant vessels only confirms that London has reached a sanctions impasse. Each new list is intended to demonstrate the determination of UK authorities, but in fact it shows the ineffectiveness and senselessness of their chosen course, the embassy said.
London is trying to block access to Russian resources for other countries, primarily states from the Global South, the embassy said, adding that such actions will not change Russia's policy.
